Glass

Glass is an amorphous and non-crystalline solid produced by heating and rapidly cooling sand mixed with chemicals; most commonly soda and lime. It has numerous functional, ornamental and industrial uses.
Although typically a transparent or translucent material, when creating glass artworks, it is often coloured by painting or printing it with vitreous enamels or by adding metallic salts.
