Pedro and Beryl began acquiring various vintage and collectable items about twenty years ago and to date have accumulated thousands of pieces. These include Wedgwood, vintage and antique furniture as well as collectable tins.
However, for as long as they can remember, Pedro and Beryl have shared a love for all things glass.
It was whilst attending an exhibition that they met Carol Mullany, a well-established and sought-after glass artist and tutor, whose work they both loved. After spending 4 years on Carol's waiting list, Pedro and Beryl finally attended their first "Glass Class" at Glass Escapes, under Carol's exceptional tutorship.
Although Pedro and Beryl have been creating and selling glass art as a hobby for the past 10 years, their passion for glass art, specifically warm glass, intensified with their training.
It is Pedro and Beryl's dream to be the first company in South Africa to have kilns powered by renewable energy.
They can be found at their day jobs, also in the creative environment, where they manufacture and fit custom designed artificial (acrylic) eyes for people who have lost an eye through injury or disease. Check out www.eyesalive.co.za if you’d like to see the amazing work they do.
